Hospital Bag is packed!

I’m now 33 weeks pregnant and the due date is coming a lot faster than I realized. For some reason I’ve been having this gut feeling that baby boy is going to come sooner than September 16. This might just be me anxious to meet him, or my motherly senses could be correct. Either way I began to hustle with finishing packing everything and getting everything ready for my little man. The day I got back from vacation I went to Target to purchase some frames and curtains for the nursery. Not something that was urgent or needed if he decided to come early, but something that would complete the nursery and make me feel better. In addition to purchasing some last minute decor pieces for the nursery I packed my hospital bag.
Now hospital bags are tricky. At least for me. I am a first time mom and honestly have NO IDEA what I needed to pack in my bag. I read countless articles on baby sites, read other mom blogs, asked my mom for advice on what to bring and even watched my favorite YouTuber (Casey Holmes) video on what she packed in her hospital bag. Everything I read had something different to say about your hospital bag and what you needed. So what I ended up doing was packing all the common items on all of the lists and then throwing some of my own comfort items in there.
Here is what I packed for me:
Chapstick
Socks
Slippers
Hair ties
Yeti Water bottle
Nursing bra
Nursing tanks
Mesh undies (can't wait to rock these)
Robe
Pillow/pillow case
Phone charger
Basic toiletries
-Toothbrush
-Toothpaste
-Shampoo/conditioner
-Body wash
-Deodorant
-Lotion/moisturizer
-Skin care products
Herbal spray
Breast pads
Basic makeup (I don’t want to look like a crazy lady when people come to visit)
-Concealer
-Foundation
Nursing pillow
Stress ball
Here is what I packed for baby:
Coming home outfit
First newborn picture outfit
Baby blanket
Car seat (duh)
Three blankets to bring home for the dogs to sniff and get used to Asher’s scent
I was given the advice not to overpack for baby on things such as diapers, swaddles, and wipes because the hospital will provide all of those necessities. So I only packed what I will need for him when we leave the hospital. I may end up throwing a few diapers in my bag as a back up incase we have an explosive situation in the car, but I will decide that later.
Now will I use all of this stuff? Who knows. But it’s better to be over prepared than under prepared right? Obviously things like phone chargers, makeup and pillows won’t be packed until the due date is closer. But everything else is neatly packed away in a duffle bag I was gifted at my baby shower.
The only thing left to do is wait for my precious boy to arrive!
