Vacation Vibes

As I am writing this I am sitting at the kitchen table with a view of the ocean watching a bunny run around a house over and over again. Vacation vibes are strong. It's day five at the beach house and I was finally able to sleep past 5:30 (woo!).

Day one went a little something like this:

It was hot as all heck and I of course had to work in the morning before I headed down to the beach with my dad. When we got here it was around 4:30 ish. Too late for a beach day, but early enough for everyone else to begin drinking their jack and coke and for me to sit back with my water and watch the s*** show which is my family. We had a family game night that sounds fun but it is really just a group of competitive grown adults yelling at each other over the rules. By 9 o'clock baby and I were done for the night and headed to our room. I could still hear my family arguing over rules of games and then proceeding to take shots (so glad I can't drink).

Day two I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 5:30 with such a sore back. The twin sized bed I slept on was not roomy enough for me to toss and turn throughout the night when baby boy decided he didn't like the position I was in. I did however wake up to freshly made coffee (that tasted like absolute jet fuel). It was so strong I think baby boy is now addicted. I opted for OJ. It was a beautiful day for the beach (jokes it was about 100 outside and I was already hot and miserable). But, I refused to sit inside all day so I packed all the sun screen I could find, a nice hat, about 15 waters and headed to the beach with my dad. Sunscreen was very much needed seeing as my bump was already on fire. I didn't want baby boy to pop like pop corn so I was constantly reapplying, something I NEVER did pre-pregnancy. We spent the day at the beach, came back to make lunch and then headed back down. I did not go into the water because I am a baby and HATE seaweed. It freaks me out. But I was able to relax on the beach in my comfy beach chair, and then dig a hole for my bump when I wanted to lay on my stomach. It was a good day, which ended with a sea food and chicken dinner for everyone else and a hot dog for me (chicken is still nasty to me, and I don't like seafood).

Day three I had a doctor appointment early in the morning, and then afterward I took a lovely unexpected detour through Portsmouth and Newport (I got lost on my way back from my doctor Appointment). When I arrived home it was rainy so I took the worlds best nap after lunch. To be honest I don't remember anything after that so lets move on to day four when it POURED all day and I didn't leave the couch for the majority of the day. I watched crime documentaries with my dad and took a quick trip to Marshals and the market with my mom, brother and Aunt. It was a lovely and relaxing day. When the rain finally stopped dad and I walked to the beach watched people play with their dogs and had the rest of the family meet us down there with a cooler.

Now here we are at day five. I slept in until 7 AM, didn't get out of bed untiil 8 AM and actually feel relaxed. Aunt J made protein pancakes (YUM), the coffee did not taste like jet fuel, and the sun is finally out! I am wrapping up this post because everyone went walking besides dad and I (we are taking a week off from exercise) and we are getting to the beach before someone steals our spot!

Happy Summer everyone!
